For your website, advertisements, and Instagram, you probably want flawless images if you sell physical goods. However, if your company is small, it's unlikely that you have words from letters an internal team to handle that.

With a 24-hour turnaround on affordable custom photos, Soona, a startup that raised a $35 million Series B in January, aims to address this problem.

The process

The original focus of the founders, Liz Giorgi and Hayley Anderson, was on on-site product photography. Soona was founded in 2018, and since then, it has established studios in Austin, Denver, Minneapolis, Seattle, and most recently, Los Angeles.

The pandemic, however, is when Soona started providing remote shoots.

In order to "attend" online photoshoots, brands ship their goods to Soona. Real-time feedback is possible because images appear as they are being captured.

Customers can purchase a package or buy individual photos for $39 each.

According to TechCrunch, Soona's pivot caused revenue to increase by 400% in 2021 and by 300% in 2022.

It's quick and simple, which appeals to brands.

The scented lip balms made by Exoh were photographed using Soona by company founder Emily DeLapp.

She admitted to The Hustle that she had been managing ecommerce brands for more than ten years. "I would have killed for the option to outsource product photos years ago, especially with such a quick turnaround and at such a low cost."

When Soona launched in Los Angeles last week, Carla Sancho, the company's founder and owner of Wedding Collectibles, tried it out.
